Projects Demonstrating

STRATEGIC COMMUNICATION

The following are multi-faceted projects in which I analyzed different aspects of organizations’ communication strategies and conducted research on current market practices. Each project includes a comprehensive report with recommendations to improve current business practices for meeting their individual business goals and improving their overall communication strategy.

Internal Communications Audit
for McDonald's and Grayco

93% of all McDonald's restaurants are owned and operated by local independent business owners. Grayco Management runs over 36 McDonald's restaurants throughout the greater Nashville, TN area. With their restaurant portfolio growing, including their number of employees, they wanted to conduct an internal communication audit to ensure their employees felt heard, all communications pieces were being shared through the proper channels, their current chain of command was streamlined, and overall that their restaurants were running as efficiently and uniform as possible.

IMC Plan
McCluskey Center at the University of Utah

A strategic communications team and I created a comprehensive Integrated Marketing Communications Plan for a new student organization at the University of Utah, the McCluskey Center for Violence Prevention.

From the results of all research, findings, and data collected, we created marketing objectives, strategies, and tactics to produce deliberate and intentional approaches, including a complete social media campaign I created, to help strengthen marketing efforts and achieve overall goals and benchmarks.

Employee Training Manual
for The Omni Nashville Hotel

The Omni Hotels and Resorts have over 60 properties each featuring the local culture and cuisine. While each hotel is different, corporate standards are constant throughout all properties. Because of these factors, I created a training manual to include both corporate standards, policies, and procedures as well specifics for the hotel and job descriptions of the Barlines staff.

Instructional Website
for the MSC Program at Westminster College

The advisors and staff of the Masters of Strategic Communications (MSC) Program at Westminster College were looking for an informative website to aid students between being accepted into the program and graduation. The design includes general overviews of the program, links to university and program websites and pages created and maintained by the University, as well as pages broken down by semesters for students to reference throughout their program.
